PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE – TRACY TRUDELL, 2018
I am grateful to once again be President of the 158th Wallacetown Fair. It is with great pride our Board of Directors, Associate Directors and Volunteers work tirelessly all year to bring you, what we hope, is the highlight of the fall in our community!
Come to ride on your favourite ride, eat candy apples, experience the traditions of the past and make new traditions for the future. The Wallacetown fair is a “staple” in our community and I welcome you to come participate in all we have to offer this year.
Friday night we are having Connor Wilson, who grew up in our community, come and entertain us for our Pub night at the fair. Come listen to his Country Music, dance and enjoy connecting with friends of the past, present and future.
We are fortunate to once again have Campbell Amusements as our ride and carnival games for everyone to enjoy.
Saturday we will be playing in the Mud with our Mud Bogg and Sunday come out where the local heroes compete to thrill the crowd as they smash and crash.
We have so much to offer and this is a small taste of what you will see and experience. Please look through the book to find out what, when and where you will find to do at this year’s fair. A big thank you goes to Kim Carder, fair Secretary, for putting this fabulous book together.
Make sure you take a look at all the hard work that has gone into all the entries in the General Exhibit building, Junior Fair and 4-H buildings. From the Pet Show to the cattle and sheep shows we have something for everyone.
Thank you to all the fairboard directors for their dedication throughout the year from working bingos, fundraising and planning for this year. I truly am grateful for all you do for the fair and in our community, without you there would be no fair for everyone to enjoy.
I would also like to thank all the volunteers that help during the fair, before, after and throughout the year as well – I am grateful for all your generous giving of your time to continue what we have all grownup loving, one weekend in the fall each year.
I hope that our community will continue to support our local fair. It is because of the support we have through our community and volunteerism, we will continue to thrive! Thank you. See you all at the fair!
HOMECRAFT PRESIDENT – LIN MCCANN, 2018
Our 2018th Annual Fair is once again ready for everyone to participate in and enjoy. We are excited about our theme “Magical Weekend” and have planned many interesting events for all ages.
Our Homecraft committee and volunteers have been planning and preparing new classes, exciting exhibits and demonstrations. We invite you to enter our fair, whether it be flowers, baking, sewing, quilts, or crafts. We would be proud to display your talents and thank you for entering.
A personal thank you from me to all my committee’s and volunteers. Our Fair would not be possible without the many hands that help. You always say yes when I call, you go the extra mile and put in the extra hours. Together we make an unstoppable team and get the job done.
Enjoy the weekend, visit with friends and neighbours, meet new folks, and return home with many new memories. It’s YOUR weekend to have fun.
