Rules and Regulations 

  1. All persons, upon payment of $5.00 may become members of the Wallacetown Agricultural Society. Membership does not entitle one to admittance. Membership will not be deducted from prize monies.
  2. All individuals obtaining membership numbers must be personally registered. No numbers or prize money will be issued to farm names.
  3. Each exhibitor is responsible for completing their own entry tickets and forms.
  4. Entry form must be left at fair office before exhibitor places entries in exhibit hall. If this rule is not adhered to, no prize money will be paid. Junior Fair Entry Forms to be left in Junior Fair Building. Livestock exhibitors see rules in livestock classes.
  5. No special prize will be awarded when an entry has not been made for same. Tags for specials must be included.
  7. Prize money will be paid out at the fair and NOT mailed. Prize money can be picked up at the fair on Sunday or Monday when picking up your items.
  8. Judges are requested to report to the fair office at least a half hour before the time of judging is to commence on the day they are required to judge.
  9. Specials donated in cash and for which no entry is made are deemed to be a donation to the fair.
  10. Baking Exhibits that is to become property of donor because of a special donation must be picked up by the person making the donation at 5 p.m. sharp on Saturday.
  11. All stock must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor at time of entry and all grains, roots, vegetables and seeds, fruit and dairy products must be the property of the exhibitor, the growth of the present year.
  12. All Beef Class and Sheep Class prizes will be paid out in the ring as they are won.
  13. All cattle, sheep and horses must meet requirements of the Health and Animal branch. CFIA Tags required. Preregistration is necessary.
  14. All livestock must be exhibited on the fairgrounds the day of the fair, unless directed otherwise by the board of directors, to be eligible for prize money.
  15. No article to be shown in two sections unless for specials.
  16. Should there be but one exhibitor in a class or section, judges can use their own discretion as to awarding premium.
  17. No articles shall be allowed to leave the grounds until the close of the fair other than Baking Products, without permission of the President. Pick up is now Monday from 4 – 6 pm.
  18. One entry in all sections except livestock.
  19. Where prizes are given on points, first place will count 3 points, second place 2 points and third place 1 point. These sections will be considered championship sections and no entry will be necessary.
  20. Gift certificates to be redeemed in merchandise only.
  21. Upon the discovery of a dishonest practice, either in the preparation, ownership or representation concerning any article exhibited which may have affected or may have intended to affect the decision of the judges, the board may have the power to withhold any payment of any prize awarded and may prohibit any such party from exhibiting for one or more years and may also publish the names of such persons.
  22. All protests must be made in writing and must state plainly the cause of the complaint and shall be delivered to the President or Secretary before 4 p.m. on the last day of the fair. The sum of $25.00 shall be deposited with the Secretary in each case of protest making the same, to be forfeited if the protest is not sustained.
  23. While the Directors will take every precaution under the circumstances to ensure the safety of all articles sent to the fair, the owners themselves must take the risk of exhibiting and should any exhibit be accidentally injured, lost or stolen, the directors will give all possible assistance in their power toward recovery but will not make any payment for the value thereof.
  24. The right is reserved by the Board of Directors to reduce the amount of prize money or special awards paid to exhibitors below the amounts published in the various classes and sections of the prize list, as circumstances and conditions beyond their control may warrant and can be subject to change without prior notice.
  25. Exhibitors responsible for their own liability insurance.
